FUNDING
The PTO funds support Newton Middle School activities and events that extend beyond the school's budget. This year, we are raising money for upgrading laptops, organizing staff appreciation events, supporting student needs, and expanding to student events.
Funding Sources
- Donating online through the Annual Fund
- Participating in the Shred-a-thon
- Buying Groceries at King Soopers
- Eating out on Restaurant Nights
- Corporate Matching
- Shopping at the Streets of SouthGlenn
Annual Fund
The Annual Fund is our ONE school-wide primary fundraiser, from which 100% of donations are deposited directly into the PTO account. To reach our fundraising goal, we suggest a one-time donation of $150 per family. To make your contribution, log into Infinite Campus, select "Fees" on the left navigation, go to "My Accounts," and select "Optional Payments" to add the donation to your cart.
Shred-A-Thon
Our second biggest fundraiser reaches out to our greater community. Every April, Arapahoe Credit Union hosts a recycling event in the Newton parking lot, during which Newton PTO receives 100% of the donations. They supply the service, and we supply the volunteers; together, we serve our community.
King Soopers rewards
With only a few clicks, you can link your King Soopers rewards number to Newton Middle School, and the PTO can earn passive income every time you use your card to buy groceries or gas at a King Soopers location. Newton raised almost $5000 from this program last year! Don’t forget to ask your neighbors and grandparents…anyone in the country who shops at a Kroger brand grocery store, to link up with Newton.
If you haven't already, it's time to switch your card from your elementary school to Newton.
Street smarts at Southglenn
The Street Smarts rewards program gave Newton PTO over $1000 towards our school last year. These funds come from points earned by shoppers who logged their receipts online supporting Newton. The more points, the bigger our reward! Between August 15 and April 30, shop, dine, or watch a movie and help fund the PTO.
Restaurant Knights
About four times a year, participating restaurants generously offer a portion of their proceeds to our PTO. You can take a break from cooking and enjoy a night out (or in!) at one of the great restaurants in our community while supporting the PTO with no additional effort or expense. All restaurant nights will be advertised in PTO communications and on the PTO Facebook page.
staff appreciation holiday cheer campaign
An opportunity to give an additional donation will make the holiday season even more special for our teachers and staff. These funds will be used to share gifts with everyone who works in the building to make Newton great: teachers, office staff, custodians, kitchen staff, the mental health team, and paraprofessionals. Donation opportunities will be announced in November.
Newton PTO is a 501(c)3 organization; your donation is tax-deductible.
